New Genius obd ii/boot master review:

Two months ago I ordered a New Genius 5.05 K-Touch Map online. Now I want to share my experience of Chinese New Genius with you all, so post my real feedback here.

 claims this New Genius K-Touch is the first Touch Map device which can read and program the ECU in modern vehicles over OBD2. Yep, as it advertised. In garage I tested it ok to read/write ECU on these vehicles:

2014 Ford Fiesta Ecoboost 1.0 125hp auto

2013 Mitsubishi ASX/Outlander Sport 2.0 4B11 CVT

2014 Chevrolet Orlando 1.8 Petrol Auto

2015 Mitsubishi Montero Sport/Pajero Sport 2.5DiD 178hp auto

Opel Zafira , Combo , Meriva Denso

Mercedes EDC16C2 ID

How I use New Genius to remap and tuning ECU?

I read data through OBD and save file to device. Then connect with this k- touch program and export file to pc. Before tuning I use gen file extract (the original genius file). After tuning I import file to device with k-touch program and write the file to car.

P.S need DS manager device to do this.

It also claims New genius obd ii/boot master is updated version of Kess V2 and support more new vehicles. In my view, New Genius K-Touch =Laptop +Kess V2. More support vehicles I didn’t test all, but I am sure Kess cannot do Mitsubishi while New Genius can.

When using New Genius K-Touch I met two troubles finally solved (got technical help online form www.eobdtool.co.uk), in case you may meet them as well I summarized two using tips for you:

1. Some of you may also fail to use New Genius to do DQ250/DQ500.

Solution: simply connect a 120R resistance between CAN High and CAN Low, when you connect OBD.

2. I knew this New Genius is without token limitation, so I tried to press the tokens recovery button to recovery tokens, but the light kept flashing. I tested the button and find it not working with home version change but no token.

Solution: There are 2 switches at the bottom press the switch nearest LED on top, went back up to 30, press and hold switch, apply power, waited 10 seconds pulled power out and removed clip.

A little percent of users may have no luck, then download one more fixup software "kess v2 fixusb (se87-d) " and then setup.

Setup Tips (Important):

If Kess v2 fw4.036 v2.22 is not working, you are strongly advised to install our supplied working Setup 1.93 selfinstall.rar”, if you keep on installing the higher version of software, just copy the program you installed on C:/ and save, then install “Setup 1.93 selfinstall.rar” , finally replace the same file in Local disk C: with the newly saved data; then it will work

Get error “no protocol found" after format the SD card

Usually, some users may format the SD card at any reason, then get "no protocol found", the fast way they think is to get new program online, actually you are supposed to have one new customized SD card from the factory not directly get software online.
