Step – by –step installation procedure:

Open new genius DVD, copy folder "TF FIX" to the desktop.

Open folder "TF FIX" at the desktop, cut "K-touch" Disc Image File, then paste it to D:\(E:\ or F:\ is okay too).

Moving "TF FIX" from C:\ to D:\ . Note: do not put these files into any folder.

Look at following connection picture which shows how to use the SD card.

Note: change to the other TF card is disallowed; you have to use the built -in TF card.

You may get message prompting you format the removable disk, click "Ok" to format.

Open "TF FIX" folder, then folder"Win32DiskImager", then application "Win32DiskImager", then click "save" icon, then select "K-touch" Disc Image File, then click "Save".

Click "Write", then you get a message "Writing to a physical device...." click "Yes".

Write Successfully.

Exit.

Click the right corner green icon, select "Eject USB2.0-CRW".

Some users feedback they have a same problem with Ktag and/or Kess v2 Master checksums error eg. the units will not calculate checksums when loading files. And this error happens on both Chinese clone Ktag/Kess and EU clone ones.

According to this ECU, you must do a full read and then straight after that you must do a full write. After you've done that, the ECU is open for you to load your tunes based on partial reads and writes. The reason for the full read and full write is that it takes off the tuning protection on the ECU.

I did a full read a month ago, and only did a full write a week ago. Whenever I tried to write the tune file, the ECU would be bricked and come back with a checksum error after the write. So the secret is to do the write directly after the read. I did this with a FGTECH V54 but the process is the same for Kess. I now write my custom tunes with Kess to the ECU, and KSuite corrects the checksums for the partial writes.

The process is different for other ECUs I'd imagine.

Why I need to buy KESS V2 and Ktag programmer together?

KESS V2 Master is a ECU programming tool that is perfect for OBD use, while KTag is perfect for Jtag, BDM and all the Boot application (tricore and ST10).

With KESS V2 you programming directly through the OBD port of the vehicle, while with Ktag (Ktag 2.13) you need to take apart the ECU and open it, after you can make the read/write operation.

Many ECU has the advantage that can be read and write from OBD port (so KESS V2 is perfect), but there are lot ECU that need to disassemble from the car and open and this is the case for all the ECU that need to be programmed with Jtag, BDM and Boot protocols, so KTAG is needed.

2. Install WinRAR 3.62

III. Install K-suite 2.12

1. Install software for USB Device
2. Run KSuite 2.15 for BMW vehicles (BMW F25 & F01)

Right click “K-Suite” for “Properties”.

Click Find Target...

Delete all files and folder in “C:\KSsuite”.

Then right click for “Paste”.

Close K-Suite Properties interface.

Copy the folder “help” from “Ksuite V2.15 (E:)” to “C:\KSsuite”.

Delete zip file KSuite 2.15 and folder KSuite 2.15 on Desktop.
